From learning about entrepreneurship in the classroom to experiencing the startup ecosystem firsthand—T-IIM students visited Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) as part of the LEAP 2026 journey. The visit offered students an exciting opportunity to explore the world of ideas, innovation, startups and entrepreneurial life. They gained valuable insights into how a simple idea can evolve into a scalable venture, the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and the mindset required to build something from the ground up.
A key highlight of the visit was understanding the role of KSUM in nurturing Kerala’s startup ecosystem—through its support, infrastructure, networks, programmes and opportunities that help entrepreneurs transform innovative ideas into impactful businesses. The sessions were led by Mr. Ashok Kurian Panjikkaran, Senior Manager, KSUM, who shared practical perspectives on entrepreneurship and the opportunities available within Kerala’s growing innovation ecosystem.
The experience encouraged our students to look beyond conventional career paths and consider entrepreneurship, innovation and problem-solving as powerful avenues for creating both value and impact. Because sometimes, the most important step in building a startup is simply believing that an idea is worth pursuing.
